Kiosk – cultural history/stories and photo opportunities at its best!

Soda, sparkling water, Pils, Kölsch, edible paper, Schokokussbrötchen(Chocolate Marshmallow Sandwichs), lollipops, sour chips, collectable cards, surprise bags for girls and boys ... the little store around the corner had everything... and it still has!

The kiosks that are also called Büdchen, Buden or Trinkhallen in West Germany are legendary. In Cologne alone, there are about 1,000 of them. Having a tasty beer or a fassbrause, we will discover fascinating facts of the highly interesting Kiosk history, which is also an almost forgotten part of industrial history.

Among other things, we explain when one and the same kiosk is legally considered a restaurant and when a retail establishment. We go on a funny, unique and very informative photo-discovery about a treasure of everyday culture in Cologne: the kiosk.

It is recommended that participants have a camera or smartphone to take pictures.
